Opencage: Hiring Engineers in London
When I arrived at Yahoo Germany in March of 2001, office space was scarce. I ended up sitting on the short end of a desk and had only After a journey to higher spheres inside Yahoo and the world of education, he decided to start a web company in London, where I visited him a couple of weeks ago.
His startup, code-named "Opencage" will target an entrenched space of the Internet world with sleepy competitors. They're building a consumer service: even your mom will understand what it's about. Ed and Javier, the two co-founders (both former Yahoo execs), are pleasant and experienced people. I'm convinced they'll be able to build something valuable.
Incidentally, they are looking for engineers and engineering interns, based in London. They put up a site explaining the company and the jobs they offer. If you have strong web skills and are excited about the chance to build something amazing from scratch, you should apply.
I'm told they're in the process of getting plenty of office space – hopefully enough for Ed's stretching exercises.
